As beacon installations for indoor location break records also the team here at sensewhere have been pretty busy incorporating Bluetooth positioning and mapping with the sensewhere system. Watch out for more information in this area coming your way soon!


Tips from the business

We have set up a new section within our blog space (also available through our news stream) called sensewhere Market Watch, updating you every Thursday with the latest from the industry. This will be a collection of our most recent “spotted and tweeted” news from each week. We hope you enjoy the weekly selections we’ll have for you.

Office activity

Since the last newsletter there has been a lot going on in terms of recruitment in our office. We have had Rick and Ian join our team of programmers and are currently in the process of interviewing for several other open positions at both sensewhere HQ as well as our US office in Mountain View. Spin-outs UK

This quarterly journal Spin-outs UK was published in April listing sensewhere Ltd. amongst five other star-ups as promising University spin-out and start-up companies set up by staff and student entrepreneurs and now impacting their respective industries. Read more on p.15 here.

Events

Trade Shows

So far this year we have been to and presented at three main events.
Our CEO, Rob Palfreyman, appeared at the Consumer Electronics Show at the very start of the year joining the crowds of 150 thousand and presenting as one of the 3 thousand companies in Las Vegas.

Early in the year CTO Tughrul Arslan flew down to the GEOMob conference in London at which he gave a presentation on indoor location and specifically the sensewhere software in action. There is a photo gallery with short descriptions of the event which you can access and comment on here.

Most recently, a team of four: Rob, Tughrul, Anna and Syed went to the annual Mobile World Congress where we joined the grand stand hosted by Scottish Enterprise. Photo gallery is captured in our Facebook album here, too. Let us know if you can spot yourself on any of the pictures!

Conference

At the start of May Rob and Anna attended the Transatlantic Trade Today & Its Future Prospects conference where panellists such as Linda Hanna, Senior Director, Strategy & Economics at Scottish Enterprise along with other high profile speakers such as Jim Neel, 2nd Secretary, US Economic Section, US Embassy and The Rt Hon Ken Clarke MP, Minister without Portfolio, discussed the many realities of trade between Scotland and the US.
