In November sensewhere launched a new addition to its software solutions range, adwhere. The latest product is a precise location based mobile advertising platform that delivers intelligent context aware adverts, coupons and vouchers to mobile device users indoors and within areas of poor GPS coverage. This service has been designed to target the right people with the right products, at the right time and place. adwhere can be fully configured to suit a variety of business models. sensewhere offers tailored solutions for customers and partners such as advertising agencies, content providers, mobile network operators, stores, malls, chain stores/venues, enterprise and more.

Through the data-mining capabilities the right information is derived to form personalised messages which are then distributed as hyper-local ads/coupons/retail information to customers within individual stores, shopping malls, airports and casinos happens via SMS, In App Notification or email. sensewhere is available to discuss its technology with potential customers today.

sensewhere has launched its EVK and SDK in Windows 8 platform. sensewhere has also submitted one of its social networking applications on the Intel AppUp store. The application is integrated to facilitate the innovative indoor positioning feature.

In-Location Alliance

sensewhere became a member of the In-Location Alliance. The alliance, which was started in August this year comprises 22 technology companies including Nokia, Samsung and Sony Mobile. Click here to read more about the formation of the In-Location Alliance and here is their website.

Partnership with Micello

July this year saw sensewhere sign a strategic partnership agreement with Micello, the leading provider of comprehensive indoor venue maps for location services. As part of this partnership, sensewhere licenses and incorporates several hundreds of Micello’s indoor maps in its mobile applications and blends its world-leading indoor location technology. New Office


In July sensewhere set up a California base in Silicon Valley. The new office in Mountain View in the San Francisco Bay area is a result of increased interest in indoor location technology and traction in the US and will form a platform for sensewhere’s further expansion into the US markets. Events

sensewhere’s CEO, Rob Palfreyman was present at The Cambridge Wireless event on the 21 November 2012. This year’s Cambridge Wireless was organised in partnership with Silicon Southwest in London, where The Discovering Start-Ups 2012 Competition became a national competition of the best of start-ups in the UK. This year’s 3rd annual event was sponsored by Google, Qualcomm Ventures, Rohde & Schwarz and SETsquared Partnership. Congratulations to the winners who pitched their innovative technologies to the panel.

On the 16th and 17th of October sensewhere sponsored The Location Business Summit in San Jose. This 4th annual event facilitated the biggest meeting place for hands on knowledge and networking within the mobile and location industry and was attended by the sensewhere’s CEO, Rob Palfreyman.

Earlier in October sensewhere was represented at the Apps World 2012 in London by CTO, Tughrul Arslan and Communications Exec Anna Majek. sensewhere exhibited its technology and applications such as snapp! at its booth. In addition, sensewhere’s CTO was a member of a panel on location based applications. It was great to see over 300 companies in attendance and so much interest in sensewhere’s technology. sensewhere team demonstrated snapp!, friendswhere as well as pre-release adwhere based application to a wide audience and made some great contacts. Looking forward to Apps World next year – hope to see you in CA, 7-8 February!

Earlier releases

Earlier in July sensewhere released its innovative social network map, snapp!. The free mobile application which blends sensewhere’s world-leading indoor location technology with social mapping, allows users to view their friends’ updates in their geographical context across a variety of social networks, and issue accurate geotagged updates deep indoors. The application was met with a lot of excitement and grew a Facebook fan base of two and a half thousand. You can still download the free app from here.

A Scottish version of the app was released shortly afterwards called snapp!ed – with the aim to enhance the Edinburgh Fringe Festival experience. The app now operates as an aid for students to find their way around town and Edinburgh Campus.
